2) Anything else you've seen at fire sale prices on the Switch eShop worth buying? Not that I don't have enough games on my backlog, but I figure if you recommend titles to me then you'll feel like you were being productive scrolling through the catalogue :')
As a kid, I traded my Metroid Prime for MGS: Twin Snakes, the GameCube version of this. Perhaps it lost some of the original charm, but there were no obstacles to enjoying the game right away. Psycho Mantis was amazing to me. Loved it and had to go get MGS2 and 3 right after.
I appreciate your comments on how we are still figuring out ways to talk about this medium, but I’m also doubtful: EGM and Nintendo Power were the big forces back in the day, and they’re both defunct. And as far as I know, there aren’t any classic articles from those worth revisiting (despite the number of times I reread the copies I had as a kid). Curious to see if you figure it out!
